The functions of the Ministry of Economy in the field of internal trade:
- elaboration and promotion of the state policy regarding the development of the interior and exterior trade and the provision of services, based on the priorities and the domains regulated by the state;
- development of regulations for the deployment of trading activities;
- monitoring of trading activities;
- development of the mechanism of price / tariff formation to the important social products / services;
- promotion of domestic goods;
- providing protection of consumer rights.
In order to fulfill the basic functions of the Ministry, the Department of Internal Trade has the following tasks:
- elaborates state programs and strategies for the development of the internal trade;
- elaborates draft legislative and normative acts in order to improve the legislation in the field of internal trade;
- puts forward proposals to regulate and support the production and marketing of goods and services;
- coordinates the activities of the central specialized bodies of the public administration and of the local public administration authorities in the field of internal trade;
- monitors (manage) the Information System in Trade through the local public administration authorities (the economic respective structures);
- examines the proposals of natural and legal persons for the purpose of developing trade-related relations, as well as their petitions;
- puts forward proposes to improve the mechanism of price formation for social-important and state-regulated products;
- puts forward proposals on the optimization of the state bodies’ duties with control functions in the field of trade;
- initiates, organizes and conducts Republican fairs and exhibitions, organizes seminars, round tables, trainings, etc. in order to train and improve the staff of the trade, to inform the population about the issues related to trade;
- supports the activity of the stock exchange and the electronic trade.
