The World Trade Organization (WTO) is an international organization overseeing a large number of agreements defining “trade rules” between Member States. The WTO is the successor of the “General Agreement on Tariffs and Trade” and operates towards the reduction and abolition of international trade barriers.

The Republic of Moldova is a full member of the World Trade Organization since June 6, 2001.

WTO Notification and Information Centers

The WTO Notification and Information Centers were created to implement the commitments of the Republic of Moldova to the World Trade Organization (WTO), ratified by Law no. 218-XV of 1 June 2001 "On the Accession of the Republic of Moldova to the World Trade Organization." The essential role of the respective Centers is to optimize the mechanism of information and cooperation between the governmental institutions of the Republic of Moldova and the WTO members.
